Must-read for breakfast shop owners!

Here are 10 trademarked terms that might surprise you — using them could get you a legal warning letter from a lawyer:

 1. McNuggets, McChicken – Using these names on your menu is direct trademark infringement.

 2. Drive-Thru

 3. McBurger

 4. McXiang – This one is specifically registered under “restaurant services.”

 5. McCrispy Chicken

 6. Filet-O-Fish

 7. Happy Sharing Meal – Also registered under “restaurant services.”

 8. Happy Kids Meal – Registered under “bread and sandwiches.” Breakfast shop owners, don’t use this on your menu!

 9. Churros – In 2023, an applicant tried to register “Li-Ke Churros” and was preliminarily rejected for being too similar to a trademark owned by Taco House Co., Ltd.

 10. Love Potion – Don’t dream of selling this as a magical coffee! It’s already exclusively registered under categories like “coffee” and “desserts.”

The first eight names are all registered trademarks of McDonald’s Corporation (U.S.),

and are exclusively for use by McDonald’s in Taiwan—no exceptions!
