The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has officially announced that trademark application fees will increase starting January 18, 2025. The fee adjustments will impact several official filing categories. The changes are as follows:
- Trademark application fee: from $250 per class → $350 per class
- Actual use trademark registration: will increase to $350
- Intent-to-use trademark registration: will increase to $500
- Statement of use (Declaration of Use): from $100 per class → $150
- Section 8 declaration (5th–6th year after registration): from $225 per class → $300
- Section 9 renewal + Section 8 use declaration (9th–10th year): from $525 per class → $650
With only two months left before the increase takes effect, we strongly recommend submitting your trademark application as soon as possible. Doing so can help save costs and ensure your brand is legally protected in the U.S. market.
